Stephen Blaylock practices primarily in the areas of divorce, pension, estate planning and selected areas of tax. He received his B.A. degree in economics in 1968 and J.D. degree in 1971, both from the University of Kansas. Mr. Blaylock is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, in addition to the Kansas state and federal courts. Admitted to bar, 1971.

He is a frequent lecturer and author for the Kansas Bar Association, Washburn Law School and other organizations that sponsor programs in divorce for lawyers and judges.

His areas of lecturing and writing include valuation of closely held business, tax planning and pension law as they relate to divorce. He authored "Retirement Benefits: Tax Ramifications Reviewed and Applied," (1993 summer edition of the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.) Mr. Blaylock annually co-authors "Family Law" chapter for the Kansas Bar Association Annual Survey. Mr. Blaylock also authors the "Tax" section and co-authors the "Property and Maintenance" section of the Kansas Bar Association Family Law Handbook with updates. Mr. Blaylock is a past member of the Kansas Bar Association Family Law section of which he was the chairperson.

Mr. Blaylock is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and serves on the Divorce Taxation Committee of that organization. He is trained in mediation arbitration and also offers those services in the domestic area.
