Dwight Wallace has deep roots in both the aviation industry and the legal profession. In the 1930s, Dwight’s father, Dwight S. Wallace, and his uncle, Dwane Wallace, purchased an airplane manufacturer out of bankruptcy. In the 1960s, Dwight’s father’s law firm merged with Martin Pringle. Then, in 1971, Dwight became an attorney, like his grandfather, father, and brother before him. Not surprisingly, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his representation of airplane manufacturers and airplane component parts manufacturers. In recent years, Dwight has also developed a niche in elder law practice, focusing on protecting the elderly in an increasingly complex world.
Aviation Law and Products Liability
Dwight has been practicing aviation law since his admission to the bar in 1971. His practice encompasses products liability defense, regulatory matters, accident investigations, and litigation-related testing. Dwight offers unparalleled knowledge regarding compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and matters governed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), among other issues. He is a recognized leader in the defense of aviation and other products liability actions, including allegations of manufacturing defects, design defects, and inadequate warnings. Dwight has vast experience in the defense of products liability claims involving airplane structural integrity and design issues, and is among an elite few in the country with his level of expertise concerning in-flight separations.
Dwight has defended products liability actions involving many other types of products as well, including mini-blinds, bicycles, chairs, clothing, and tree stands. He has managed litigation of products liability claims throughout the country.
Elder Law
Dwight’s own experience with the needs of aging family members provided invaluable insight into the issues often faced by the elderly and their loved ones. Often, people carefully set up asset transfer plans to pass on their assets, but fail to adequately plan for their own care in their remaining years. Matters such as identifying quality in-home care services and selecting assisted living facilities or nursing homes often demand a great deal of time. All too often, these decisions must be made following a crisis that necessitates a prolonged hospital stay and rehabilitation services. Determining how to select, and pay for, the best care can be a daunting task. Dwight’s training as an attorney, and his personal experience with these issues, affords him the perspective to be most helpful to clients whether he is retained by those personally involved in the crisis or their representatives, particularly those living far from the crisis.
